Honda: lights blink, vacuum line, honda accord ex

1998 honda accord ex 4dr 6cyl every time i open a door the lights blink on and off for about a min that includes inside lights (dash lights )also if your in the car and hit a door lock it does the same thing its almost like a childproof issue what could this be

Weird one but I would first inspect the door switches (each door has one)at every door. They are located near the door jam lock and there is a contact switch that lets it know whether a door is open or closed.

It sounds like there may be a worn contact...I do not know what may be causing the blink on the dash however. This entire blinking thing is rare and it sounds more like there is a bigger problem more specifically a wiring harness problem. Does the car have a factory alarm? Has there been any work done on the car in the past months? I commonly see electrical issues occur the most after an aftermarket alarm install, just depends on how good the shop is.

It is definitely an electrical issue. I don't think its a childproof issue but more related to an electrical (alarm, faulty wiring) problem. I would suggest starting with these areas.

I apologize that I cannot be more helpful, electrical troubleshooting other than vacuum line troubleshooting can be the trickiest to perform and may be very time consuming (and furstrating)
