Honda: Honda Oddyssey Engine & Traction Control Lights, honda oddyssey, autozone

Question
This morning my check engine and traction control lights came on and remained on for my entire drive.  I did try to shut the engine off and restart it twice, as I have noticed in the past that the warning lights sometimes need to reset, but that did not do the trick.  What do you think is going on?  The engine ran fine for the entire trip.

Thanks.

Answer
Usually, a check engine light would indicate that you have an emissions system problem.  Since the lights came on simultaneously, I would suggest that the traction control error and check engine light are related.  The easiest way to find out is to have AutoZone pull the error code from your vehicle's computer.  If you think there is no problem, then reset the Check Engine Light by temporarily disconnecting the battery's negative terminal(10 seconds should be fine).  If the lights do not come back on in a week or two, then you should be okay.

Good luck.
