Hyundai: 2000 Accent w/Auto Transmission, split seals, clutch plates

Question
While giving it a little gas it down shifted and seemed to be stuck in like a half engaged clutch mode for about three seconds.  I shifted to neutral and after that I checked my fluid level and it was a quart low, which I topped off. Now it hard shifts up into 3rd gear and when I come to a stop.  While trying reverse it sputters while half engaging reverse or just idles like in neutral.  If I'm on a slope where it can roll backwards it kicks in and out of reverse but engages a little better.  Is it the tranny or is it something simple.  Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Curtis, it is probably a burned gear clutch plates due to worn or split seals on the piston.Of which will require disassembly of the transmission. Another could be your cable linkage connected to a throttle valve or a vacuum modulator to apply pressure to the throttle valve.
