Nissan: Rt front clunking noise & shake when braking, infinity j30, lug nuts

Question
I have a 1994 Infinity J30.  185,000 miles. My problem is when I brake moderately hard at any speed the right front end makes a very loud repetitive knocking noise and the front end shakes severely. I have replaced the brake pads, turned the rotors and replaced the right front caliper assembly.  No change. I put the front end of the car on jack stands and tried to re-create the noise by moving the wheels with as much force as possible.  No visible signs of joint leaks or loose suspension parts. It also makes a similar clunking noise when I go over a speed bump.

Please help.  Any advice is greatly appreciated. Please be specific in part names and description.

Thanks,

Ted

Answer
Remove the wheel and pu the lug nuts back on with spacers to tighten the rotor against the hub. You will need to measure the run out of the rotor. If this checks out then you will need to inspect the front end parts and make sure nothing is loose or worn out. Dont rely on visual inspections, make sure things are tight. You may just have a bad rotor and turning it will not fix the problem
