Question
Hi Jerry
I have a problem with my saab 9000 it was running very well,i got home switched the engine off and an hour later it would not start it fires every time but will not run i put new spark plugs in and it still only fires but will not rev up and spark plugs go black also fuel vapour comes out of the tail pipe when crancking over i have changed the ecu but with no difference, any advice would be appreciated

Best regards
Fred

Answer
Fred:
It certainly sounds like an over-rich air-fuel mixture...most likely caused by a faulty sensor. I would start with the engine temperature sensor.

I am sorry that I cannot provide any more definitive information, but as noted in profile, my hands on experience is limited to the pre 1993 non-turbo 900's .
