Volvo: oil squirts at cap, alternator or starter wet, oil leaks, valve seals

Question
1995 850 GLT. 190,000 miles. oil squirts from the cap when running. need to jumpstart after car is parked a few hours. maybe due to oil presence in alternator or starter. noticed oil leaks from the cap. i think valve seals are no longer effective. what should i do? thank you very much.

Answer
Hello Roberto! The first thing to do is to check the breather box and all lines. They may be clogged. That can cause many oil leaks. The other problem could be caused by a fault in the charging system. Check the alternator and battery, including all wiring. I hope this info helps you.
