4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: antenna, salvage yard, toyota 4 runner

Question
I have a 95 toyota 4 runner, then antenna won't extend upward when the vechicle is started.  I can hear the motor running but the antenna won't move.  I can pull it out using my hand but for it to work automatically it won't.  Can you give me some advice on how to fix this problem?

Tho older 4Runner antennas were notorious for stripping the gears in the antenna.  The only solution is to replace the entire assemble, which is available at your local Toyota dealer.  You can sometime find them at a salvage yard but make sure they guarantee it.  They are often stripped too.  In any case, best of luck.  Thanks Chris, Bud
