Suzuki: No Fuel To 1991 Suzuki Sidekick, suzuki sidekick, delivery module

Question
While warming up on a cold day, engine died quietly like a fuel valve had been shut off.  Would not restart.  Boyfriend checked to make sure it had spark, replaced fuel filter but will only run on ether! How do you check if injector/fuel delivery module is working?  Any other suggestions?

Answer
To see if the pump is working, loosen the fuel supply line going to the throttle body, and turn the ignition on, or crank the engine. CAUTION!! BE VERY CERTAIN THAT NONE OF THE SPARK PRODUCING EQUIPMENT (PLUGS, DISTRIBUTOR CAP, ETC.) ARE MAKING SPARK TO THE OUTSIDE!!!  You can look down the throttle body, and see if fuel is being supplied while cranking.  You will see the fuel being injected down onto the throttle plate.
