Suzuki: Suzuki SJ 410 Transfer box, suzuki sj 410, pin kit

Question
The lever is jammed in 2wd rear wheels only.
I would like to jam it in 4wd to cope with the wet woodland tracks. Thank you in advance

Answer
The greatest probability is that the bushing and pin at the bottom of the shifter is worn out.  There are a number of links at izook.com that can sell you the bushing and pin kit. It's very easy to replace, and can be done in less than an hour.   This is the most common complaint with t-cases, aside from gross failure caused by running out of lube due to failure to check it for years at a time. I will only tell you how to repair it properly.  If you take the shift lever out, you will be able to access the shift rails.  the right one is 2wd/4wd, and must be shifted into 4wd first to permit selection of high/low range.  DO NOT leave the shifter and boot out of place, as that will permit the ingress of dust/water/mud, etc, and will cause thye t-case to fail prematurely.  I'm only giving you this information to allow you to get out of a bad spot in an emergency.  FIX IT RIGHT!!!  It will cost you far less in repairs in the future!
