Suzuki: suzuki sidekick neutral ignition safety switch, new distributor cap, suzuki sidekick

Question
Dear Sir, I pray God you can help me. I have a 1994 Suzuki sidekick 2 wdrive, manual tranny, 1.6 4 valve. For an entire yr since I got this vehicle I keep having trouble w/ the neutral ignition safety switch, it's worn down so I twist it down & it looks like it's touching the clutch currently, I made sure the wires were really into the thing good. But the car won't start unless we push it. This has been what has happened repeatedly for a year now. This is a very costly item to replace, single Mom that I am I would like to know what wires go with what to bypass the safety switch b/f I buy the part in case that's not the problem this time. I have a new starter, new radiator, new distributor cap, new spark plugs& new wires, 2 new belts. Battery checked out great on the machine at the store. I paid for all this & would rather find out if this safety switch is the recent problem so I don't waste money. Thank you so very much. Side note my ex husband will be doing the bypass wire to check it not ME!

Answer
The clutch switch is there to ensure that the starter is not engaged with the transmission in gear, AND the clutch not depressed, which would cause the vehicle to move, and start in gear, possibly causing an accident.  IF you ALWAYS place the vehicle in neutral, or depress the clutch as a matter of firmly established habit, there's no logical reason you could not connect the two wires on the back of the switch together, thus bypassing it.  I have done that on my Samurai to make restarting on extremely difficult terrain possible without depressing the clutch (sometimes you just don't have enough feet and arms)  Vehicles didn't have this for the first ninety years, so it's your decision.
