Suzuki: Car Dolly Towing, wheel drive cars, auto hubs

Question
I desire to tow my 1995 Sidekick 4X4 with manual transmission and auto-hubs using a car dolly.  Standard advice is to tow backwards, but my dolly instructions say in large letters, do not tow backwards. What is the risk in towing forwards?  Thank you for your response.

Answer
Towing backwards with auto hubs would guarantee that they would be engaged, and would also rotate the transfer case gears, all guaranteed to lead to premature expensive repairs.  Just disconnect the rear driveshaft at the differential and bungee it to the frame, and tow forwards.  Standard advice only applies to rear wheel drive cars.  4wd vehicles are entirely different as far as towing is concerned.
