Tips on Buying Cars: window tinting etc., used, car

Question
I will want tinted windows on the new car I buy and am guessing it will cost a lot more through the dealer than if I took it to a shop that does that? Ditto for an alarm system/GPS. As for tinting, the dealer only gives a 3yr/36k warranty and I'm pretty sure some tinting places offer a lifetime warranty? The only advantage I can see is having it already done on the new car with anything else and not having to then take it somewhere else for that. Any feedback is appreciated.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Lee,

Your thoughts are some what right, in most cases if a buyer wants tint it will save the hassle going to a tint place, but lets look at the overall picture. Personally if I wanted tint on a car I would take it to a tint shop myself here are some reasons why.

1,,, The dealer will have basic options available where-as your choice of selection will be much greater along with professional advice about the many products available if you go direct.

2,,, The service dept that handles after market products will profit, either by wholesale or service charge to the used or new car dept

3,,, Should there be issues, why waste time having to leave vehicle at dealership for them having to take it to the tint shop.

 Have a Blessed day
