Tips on Buying Cars: Reconstructed car, generals office, smyrna delaware

Question
I bought a used car at a Smyrna Delaware dealership that was "As is" and no warranty. Within days the car wasn't working properly and had to be taken back to the dealer 3 times. They objected to doing any repairs at first, but finally did. The car still has problems.  I received a call yesterday from the dealership telling me they forgot to get me to sign a form so that they could get the rebuilt title because the car was a reconstructed vehicle. I had no idea the car was a reconstructed vehicle. I wouldn't have bought it had I known. Now they cannot get the title unless I sign the form. I want to know if I can do anything about it. The Attourney generals office said I should have asked for a car fax, but I didn't know that. I thought they would have at least told me for my own safety. Now I feel cheated because I borrowed money to put down on it and I have a piece of junk. Is there anything I can do?

Answer
Hi Deborah

Yes you should feel cheated because the dealer knew all along about the history of vehicle and never disclosed to you, but they are in the clear selling you the car AS IS.

You can try to barter with them by wanting to have a few problems fixed that vehicle may presently have, if they refuse you don't have much choice but to sign the form in order to get title.

Buying any vehicle is a process of steps, one being a history report, it makes me angry to many consumers like you put total trust in a sales pitch and learn a lesson never to happen again the hard way, wish you would have had the opportunity to study my website prior to buying.

If you want to let other buyers know about this shady dealership, email me with a phone number paulsenray@yahoo.com and best time to call, and I will give you some pointers.
