Tips on Buying Cars: Buying a demo, dealership secrets, kbb

Question
I have recently test driven a 2007 Ford Edge Demo.  Sticker price $34910 (in 2007).  The car has 5600 miles on it and was driven exclusively by the dealership owner's wife.  My dilemma is that the vehicle is technically 2 yrs old now.  What would be considered a good deal and are there any dealership secrets for demos that I should be aware of?  I looked up the MSRP for this vehicle and it was $28000 if the vehicle is in excellent condition.  This car had a few scratches on the body but nothing that I would consider a dealbreaker.  Thiscar has never been titled so I was also wondering if the warranty has been affected yet?  Will I be able to take advantage of the full warranty? I a a little confused about what a good deal is on a demo since there is nothing in place to rate them like KBB or NADA.  I was also hoping to be eligible for the dealer incentives being offered but I'm not sure how this works.  Thanks in advance for any pointers you can give me.

Answer
Britni, The warranty should start when the car is sold (put in service). You didn't say what they offered to sell it for. Find out what the invoice is and minus off the rebates and incntives. Then offer a number under that.

If you are financing through Ford, be sure and negotiate the interest rate, this is how they make money and will always start out high.

Hope this helps.
