Trucking: hauling cattle, horsepower engine, approximate weight

how do you know how much horsepower and what transmition you need to be the most effitaint on the road. i will be hauling cattle on a steele sided double decker about 48'long. thank you george

Hi George,  You will need to check with a couple of truck dealers for best information. You need to know approximate weight you will be hauling and the area of country you will travel. Mountains or flat land. example.  
I do suggest at least 400 Horsepower Engine and 10 or 13 Speed Transmission.   Good Luck. J P
