Truck Repair: Ford No Spark, starter relay, noise filter

Question
It's still me.  The distributor is turning and a new ignition switch is installed and I now have power to the + side of the coil.  Also there is a part depending on which wiring diagram you look at, it is either an ignition suppression resistor or a noise filter(I think they might be the same thing).  Any way it looks like the condensers that used to be found in the distributors of vehicles with points.  Any way it's mounted on the coil bracket and has a wire  that comes out into a plugin and then it appears to go to the wiring of the distributor.  A black wire come out of the firecracker and then turns into a brown wire on the other side of the plug in.  It's the only item in that plug in.  There's another one by the starter relay that's mounted to the fender.  If this isn't a noise filter what is it what does it do an will it cause my problem?

Answer
Hi Jim,
So sounds like your ignition switch is now getting power to the coil.
The distributor pickup now is supposed to send a signal to the computer, which controls the grounding of the coil to produce spark.
And you still have no spark?

I would look real close at the wires where they pass through the edge of the distributor, below the cap.

Those little round capacitors shouldn't cause any problem, but if they are shorted internally, they could. I really doubt it though.

Check the fuses again also.

You may want to take the ECM in to a major parts house, and see if they will check it to make sure it is good. if it is, I would concentrate on the distributor pickup, or wires.
