Vintage Cars: 1973 dodge charger, intents and purposes, side marker

Question
HI I'm restoring a 1973 dodge charger and i need front fenders left and right here's the question i found front fenders for the better price the only problem i don't know
if they will fit they are from a 71 charger 500 and an 71 SE
will they fit right in or will I need to modify thanks for your time

Answer
The basic shape of a '71 Charger fender is almost identical to that of a '73.  The only change I'm aware of between the two years is the federally-mandated bumper guards for '73, and I believe there was a rubber inset around the '73's loop bumper, so that it could set out from the body a bit (for more clearance in a low-speed impact).  The side-marker lights appear to be identical, so a '71 fender from a 500 or an SE should fit your '73.  Please keep in mind that my expertise only goes so far, and I'm basing my opinion on what I remember as well as looking at photos of the two years.  There could very well be some reason why the fenders aren't interchangable, but the odds are in your favor that the two years have, for all intents and purposes, the same fender.
