Saturn Car Recalls

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requires automotive manufacturers to recall vehicles after reports of safety issues or electrical, mechanical, or physical defect or malfunction. Saturn, a division of General Motors (GM), recalled numerous vehicles during its years of operation. GM dealers will remedy any vehicle subject to a recall. Saturn Aura

  • Saturn recalled the 2009 Aura due to malfunctioning transmission shift cable adjustment clips.

Saturn Ion

  • Saturn recalled the 2003 and 2004 Ion due to problems with the turn signal and daytime running lamp, a fuel filter that could corrode prematurely and power windows that did not meet federal safety standards. The automaker also recalled the 2004 Ion due to welding problems with the front bumper. Saturn recalled the 2006 and 2007 Ions because of potential problems with the fuel reservoir assembly.

Saturn L-Series

  • Saturn recalled the 2000 L-Series for seat belt assemblies that failed to meet federal safety standards, as well as potentially defective fuel tank pressure relief valves. It recalled 2000 through 2003 L-Series models due to ignition modules prone to failure. Saturn recalled the 2001 L-Series for automatic transaxles assembled without the transaxle shift clip and for defects in both front and side air bags. It also recalled the 2003 L-Series for defective windshield wiper motors.

Saturn Outlook

  • Saturn recalled the 2007 through 2009 Saturn Outlook for multiple problems with the electrical system, as well as windshield wiper malfunctioning. It recalled the 2007 Outlook for a defective air bag sensor. It recalled the 2009 Outlook for problems with the transmission shift lever, along with seat belts and seat belt assemblies that did not meet federal safety standards.

Saturn Relay

  • Saturn recalled the 2005 Relay for seat-release handles that did not withstand side-impact crash tests, as well as parking brakes that did not meet federal safety standards. It recalled the 2006 Relay for tire information labels that did not match federal weight standards for tire selection.

Saturn S-Series

  • Saturn recalled the 1993 through 1996 S-Series for headlights that did not meet federal standards. It recalled the 2002 S-Series for seat belt assemblies that did not meet federal safety standards.

Saturn Sky

  • Saturn recalled the 2007 Sky for rear-axle pinons that may leak fluid. It recalled the 2008 Sky for seat belts whose stud fasteners did not meet strength requirements.

Saturn Vue

  • Saturn recalled the 2002 Vue for rear seat belts whose assembly anchorages may have been improperly installed. It recalled the 2004 Vue for tire information labels that did not match federal weight standards for tire selection. It recalled the 2008 Vue for problems with the automatic transmission and door handles that may stick. It recalled the 2008 through 2009 Vue for power steering assemblies that could leak fluid. Saturn also recalled the 2009 Vue for steering assemblies the automaker may have built with incorrect right or left steering knuckles.
