2008 Car Safety Ratings for the GMC Acadia

In 2007, GMC introduced the Acadia full-size crossover as a replacement for its Safari and Envoy as well as the Pontiac Montana. Tasked with the job of replacing three vehicles, the Acadia, with it's attractive exterior and unibody construction, never flinched. The 2008 Acadia received favorable reviews and good safety ratings.

Safety Ratings

  • The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2008 Acadia it's top score of "Good" on the frontal offset crash test, side impact test and head restraints and seats. The U.S. Department of Transportation gave it a five-star rating on frontal and side crashes for both the driver and passenger side. On rollovers, for both the two- and four-wheel-drive versions, a four-star rating was given.
