How to Contact a Florida Highway Patrol Officer

The Florida Highway Patrol provides traffic safety with 10 troops of officers and 43 stations across the state. Each troop serves multiple counties and cities. The Florida Highway Patrol hierarchy consists of a director, deputy directors, district commanders, troop commanders, state troopers and other personnel. There are many reasons to contact a Florida Highway Patrol Officer. You can speak to an officer to make a compliment or complaint about a trooper's conduct or can report a reckless driver, accident or traffic congestion.

  • Go to the official Florida Highway Patrol website (see Resources). Click the map of Florida, located on the left side of the page, to access an enlarged version that shows troop boundaries.

  • Scroll to the chart at the bottom of the page to locate contact information on troop headquarters and corresponding contact information.

  • Click the city name under "Troop Headquarters" that corresponds with the area and officer you wish to contact.

  • Click "FHP Station Address and Phone Numbers" to gain a list of contact information for highway patrol stations throughout Florida.

  • Call the troop headquarters or highway patrol station and request to speak with the Florida Highway Patrol officer you are seeking.
