DIY Integra Wire Tuck

The Acura Integra is a customizable performance coupe manufactured by Honda. It is known in some countries as the Honda Integra. One of the many customizable features you can perform on your Integra is a wire tuck. A wire tuck is a purely aesthetic feature that hides the wires showing in the engine compartment of the Integra. As there are several wires in the engine compartment, it can take well over an hour to complete the wire tuck.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Pliers
  • Drill
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Open the hood of your Integra and disconnect the battery. Use a socket wrench to remove the Integra's negative terminal from its battery.

  • Remove the bolts from the vacuum hose and disconnect it. Use a pair of pliers to rotate the connection on the intake manifold, making it so that the connection points down. Reconnect the vacuum hose. This will hide the hose wire as it will be tucked underneath the intake manifold.

  • Unbolt the ground wire along the front of the engine compartment. It is held in place by two bolts. Use a drill to create holes for the bolts in an area of the engine compartment that is not visible.

  • Reattach the ground wire to this area and secure it by reinstalling the bolts. This will hide the ground wire from view.

  • Remove the bolts from the fender and front bumper using a socket wrench. Remove the fender and front bumper.

  • Move the wires that run along the edge of the firewall and run them underneath where the fender will go. Drill holes in the fender, making sure that they are big enough for the wires to go through.

  • Run the firewall wires through the holes and reattach the fender and front bumper. Do not cut any wires, as you will need to solder them together once you have reattached the fender. Reconnect the battery and close the hood when you are done.
