Motor Rewinding Tools

If your motor needs rewinding, it usually means that the insulation has been damaged by excessive heat or the wiring has been cut in the wrong place. If neither of these problems have occurred, the motor can usually be repaired with some routine maintenance. Rewinding is an extremely involved process that requires extensive mechanical knowledge.

Soldering Irons

  • Soldering irons are used to weld wires together. Soldering irons made specifically for motor rewind range from 200 to 550 watts and have a hammer-like design.

Stator Handling Equipment

  • This equipment can lift your motor off the floor for easier handling. By mounting your motor on this workstation, you can easily perform all motor rewinding processes like insulation, coil placement, taping, connecting, impregnating and stoving.

Brazing Units

  • These devices consist of a main box connected to a pair of brazing tongs. Its portability makes it easy to weld wires in your motor. RRB units are used for more heavy duty brazing while HLGH units are tailored to lighter brazing.

Armature Banding Device

  • This device is used for pulling tight armature windings. It can be mounted or stand alone. The device pulls windings by taping or wrapping them.

Hand Tools and Rewind Accessories

  • Hand tools are smaller tools like wedges, wire inserters and coil tying tools. These types of tools are used to open tight parts of the motor, clean internal parts, insert wires and tie coil into place.

Rotor Lifter

  • Rotor lifters are small, clamp-like fixtures that hold a rotor in place. These tools are handy for ensuring that your rotor stays in place while repairs are performed.
