How to Use the Ford Falcon AU Stereo Removal Tools

The Ford Falcon AU is a V8-powered automobile sold in Australia under the Ford brand name. The Falcon's stereo removal tools are called "DIN tools." They look like small, thin horseshoes and are required to remove the Falcon's stereo. The Falcon AU uses a self-locking radio unit with retaining clips on the sides of the stereo. The DIN tools are available from a Ford dealership or may be available from some auto parts stores in Australia.

Things You'll Need

  • DIN tools
  • Hold the DIN tools at the bottom of the "U" of the tool: the DIN tools are shaped like a "U".

  • Insert the points of the DIN tools (the top of the "U") into the holes on the stereo. There are two access holes on each side of the AU stereo unit. Press the DIN tools all the way into the access holes.

  • Apply outward pressure on the DIN tools.

  • Pull the radio out with the DIN tools.
