How to Replace the Fuses in a Plymouth Neon

Introduced in 1985, the Plymouth Neon is the same as Dodge Neon. In either of these, the process for replacing a blown fuse is the same. You can easily switch the bad fuse out for a new one in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Fuse extractor
  • Replacement fuse
  • Turn off your Plymouth Neon before working with a fuse. Locate the two fuse boxes in your Neon. One is located under the hood next to the battery and the other is inside the passenger compartment at the left side of the instrument panel.

  • Open the fuse box cover to expose the list of fuse locations. Read the listing to find the slot and fuse you need to replace.

  • Use a fusing extractor or your fingers and remove the fuse. Examine the inside of the bulb for a burned or broken wire.

  • Replace the blown fuse with a new one of the same rating. As an example, a 1996 Neon uses two mini fuses, each with a 10-amp rating for its daytime running lights. Find the rating on the fuse itself if necessary.
