How to Wire a Ford Freestar Trailer

The Ford Freestar van can tow a medium-size utility or camping trailer. The 2005 model year is rated for a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. All trailers are required by law to have brake, signal and marker lights in order to be towed on public roads. These taillight systems are connected to the tow vehicle by means of a four-pole wiring harness, and you can install this harness yourself. Trailer laws vary by state, so refer to the Resource section below for laws governing your area.
