Instructions for the Keyless Entry Checkmate Commander TR-4Cl

The Checkmate remote is a common accessory that can be used with a variety of different vehicle types. You can program your Checkmate remote to your Jeep Commander in just a few minutes from your driver's seat. Using just your ignition key and the remote (with no other equipment necessary), you can set up the system and have the remote ready to use within minutes.

  • Enter your car with your ignition key and keyless remote, and then press the "Lock" button on the remote five times in 10 seconds.

  • Insert your key in the ignition, turn it to the "Run" position and wait for the car's chimes to stop.

  • Press and hold the "Unlock" button on your remote for four seconds, and then press the "Panic" button while still holding down the "Unlock" button.

  • Hold both buttons down for one second, and then release them. Wait for a chime to sound again, and then press and release both the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the remote.

  • Press and release the remote's "Lock" button and wait for another chime to indicate successful programming. You can then remove the key from the ignition to end the process.
