Ford models across the brand are equipped with keyless entry systems, and this technology allows you to synchronize up to four different wireless remotes for your 2005 Ford Escape. Once you program your key fob, you can control your door locks, your panic alarm and your trunk release from as far as a couple hundred feet away. You can easily program the Escape key fobs yourself without using any tools.
Sit in your Ford Escape with your ignition key and remote. Insert the key into the ignition.
Turn the key to "Run" then "Off" eight times in 10 seconds. End with the key in the "Run" position after the eighth turn.
Wait for the door locks to click on and off. Press and hold any button on your key fob within 20 seconds.
Hold the button until the locks click again. This will indicate that the remote has been synchronized with the system.
Repeat with any additional remotes within 20 seconds of the last one. Wait for the locks to click after each one. Remove the ignition key once you are done.
