Removing bugs from your car's paint or grill can be a time-consuming project, especially bugs that have been on the paint for an extended period. With a little hard work and some patience you can have your car's finish looking showroom fresh.
Wash the bug-afflicted area with car detergent and a clean sponge, get all of the loose bug bits by using a gentle circular motion. Rinse the area and apply another layer of soapy water. Use a bug removal sponge to get the more stubborn bugs off the car's paint.
Apply a dedicated bug removal product on the car if soap and water fail to do the job. Read and follow the manufacturer's directions closely. Remove difficult bugs by using the bug removal sponge after the suggested soaking time is up. Rinse the paint with clean water and dry with a microfiber towel.
Prevent future paint damage by washing and waxing regularly. Wax creates a protective barrier that also makes bugs, tar and other road grime easy to remove.
Carry a spray bottle of detailing wax and a microfiber towel in your car. Inspect the car before you get in to look for bugs or bird strikes that you need to remove. Spray a small amount of detailing wax onto the dirty area and wipe it clean with the microfiber towel.
