How to Turn Off the Dashboard Maintenance Signal in a 2008 Sienna

Owning a Sienna means that, in practical terms, you're probably never going to need another vehicle. Sure, you might if you're pulling a horse trailer, or you desperately need 50 mpg, but short of that a Sienna won't hold you back from much. Being a Toyota, there's a good chance that the Sienna will keep doing whatever you need it to do for many years; you need only keep up on maintenance, and reset your computer once you've done it.

Resetting the Light

  • The maintenance reminder light comes on whenever your computer algorithm determines it's time to change the oil; after changing your oil, the light will stay on until you reset it. With the ignition key in the "On" position, set your LCD odometer to "total mileage." Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position. Press and hold the odometer knob, and turn the key back to the "On" position without starting the engine. The maintenance reminder light will blink, then extinguish; release the knob, then turn the ignition key to the "Off" position.
