How to Remove the Back Seats in a 2002 Lexus GS 300

Removing the back seat of a Lexus GS 300 is a straightforward task that will only take a few minutes to complete. The seats come out in two pieces. The seat bottom will come out separately. The seat back will then come out smoothly. This makes the seats easy to replace. This will also provide easy access to the rear dash.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Socket set
  • Open the back door for access to the back seat. This will also provide more room to work.

  • Pull the bottom portion of the seat up and out to remove. Tilt it sideways and lift it out of the vehicle.

  • Peel the seat belts to the side of the seat back. Ensure both seat belts are pushed out of the way.

  • Unbolt the bottom corners of the seatback with a socket wrench. Lift the seatback up and out of the locking tabs. Slide the seatback out of the car. Place in a dry covered area.
