How to Replace a 2003 Cadillac Cabin Filter

Cabin filters add to the comfort level inside your Cadillac. The filter screens out dust, dust, pollen and other airborne particles, and it helps your air conditioning provide clean air within the passenger compartment. Changing the filter is relatively easy, but the location of the filter differs depending on which 2003 Cadillac you have. You can buy a replacement filter at most automotive retailers, where a service rep can easily look up the exact filter that you need will need.

Things You'll Need

  • Towel
  • Locate the cabin filter compartment. On the Seville, it is under the driver's side dashboard, near the gas pedal. You will have to remove an access panel to get to it. On the DeVille and the CTS, the filter is under the hood, just in front of the windshield on the passenger's side. You will need to remove a snap-off cover from that filter.

  • Remove the cover to the cabin filter compartment. No tools are needed, as the covering can be removed by hand in any 2003 Cadillac model.

  • Pull out the old filter. For most models, the filter comes straight out. On the DeVille, however, you will have to push a release lever first.

  • Wipe out the inside of the cabin filter compartment with a clean towel.

  • Insert the replacement filter and replace the covering over the compartment.
