The Ford F-250 uses a different headlight setup than its F-150 counterpart. This is partly due to the different front end design and ground clearance between the two vehicles. Even if you are only looking to remove the headlight bulb, you still need to remove the entire headlight assembly. Two bulbs are mounted within the rear of the assembly--the high-beam and low-beam bulb.
Turn the headlight control knob to the "Off" position. Open the F-250's hood and stand in front of the headlight.
Locate and remove the four (two on top, two on the bottom) Phillips screws that mount the headlight. The bottom two screws (between the edge of the headlight and the front bumper cover) are mounted horizontally; the top two are mounted vertically.
Push down the plastic tab on top of the headlight. With this tab depressed, carefully pull the headlight away from the grille.
Squeeze the release tabs on the bulb connections (there are two bulbs in the headlight assembly). Pull the connections from the bulbs to separate the headlight assembly from the F-250.
Remove the headlight bulbs from the assembly by turning the rear of the bulb counterclockwise. Repeat the procedure for the other headlight assembly, if desired.
