How to Replace Windshield Wipers in a GMC Sierra

If you have a GMC Sierra pickup, then you own a full-size pickup truck with plenty of towing and off-roading abilities. If you have a tendency to use your Sierra often, then you're going to have to replace the windshield wipers on an annual basis. You can use SilBlade wipers on your GMC Sierra.

  • Buy the FlexBlade type of SilBlade wipers for your GMC Sierra from the manufacturer's website. You're going to order the 22-inch set if you have a Sierra manufactured after 2000. With the FlexBlade, you won't need an extra adapter for installation.

  • Position the Sierra's windshield wipers vertically for easier access. Keep the car turned off throughout installation. You may also need a step ladder in order to make the replacement.

  • Squeeze the attached adapter of the old set of wipers. This will release the old set and make it easy for you to slide it out from the wiper arms.

  • Find the attached adapter on the new set of wipers. Take off the plastic cover in order to install the new wipers. You're then going to slide the hook arm of the wipers into the adapter. Once they have installed completely, you'll hear a clicking sound. Repeat the process for the passenger side windshield wiper.
