The Chrysler Sebring uses a keyless entry system that is controlled by a wireless remote. You can use this keyless entry remote to unlock the doors without having to physically put the key into the Sebring door. However, you can't use just any keyless remote, as the Sebring comes with a pre-programmed remote. If you buy another one, it must be the same model in order to work. If the remote entry is giving you problems, fix it by reprogramming the remote to your Sebring.
Click the "Lock" button on your remote five times, pressing the button every two seconds. This will resynchronize the remote. Press a button on the remote to see if it is working again. If not, continue to Step 2.
Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "Run" position and wait for the ignition sounds to cease. Note that the "Run" position is as far as you can twist the key clockwise without cranking the car engine.
Click and hold the "Unlock" button on your remote, then wait 4 seconds.
Click the "Panic" button on the remote in the 4- to 10-second timeframe after pressing the "Unlock" button. Keep holding the "Unlock" button down, then release both buttons after one second. You will hear a chime to signal you have entered the keyless entry programming mode.
Click both the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously on the remote, release both, then click and release just the "Unlock" button. If a secondary keyless remote is the one not working, repeat this step for that remote.
Remove the ignition key and test the keyless entry. If the remote does not respond, you will need to visit a Chrysler dealer to have technicians fix the system. Or, you might need to replace the remote entirely.
