Patch Panel Installation

If you’re lucky enough to find an all-steel street rod body today, more often than not it will be marred with dents, rips, and rust. Dents can be pounded out and rips can be welded, but rust must be cut out. The fine people at WOW Products have introduced a new door patch panel that helps facilitate rust repair. The one we worked with can be used not only to replace a bad area but also to increase the length of the door for a better fit between the door bottom and the running board. It’s a job that can be done successfully by a backyard mechanic with marginal welding skills and a portable sandblaster, a die grinder, a body grinder, and clamps. Check out the accompanying photos to remove your doubts about doing this. It’s easier than you might think.
