When it comes to building a car nothing can make or break the final appearance more than the wheels. This single part can turn the look of a car around completely, but there's more to a wheel than just good looks. Sure they're all round, but they come in all sorts of Sizes, weights and of course, prices. In this guide, we're taking a look at timeless JDM (and JDM influenced) styles ranging from inexpensive wheels for your daily driver to top-shelf, ultra-lightweight race rollers. Here's a look at what's hot on the streets!

Tires
One of, if not the single most important modification you can do to your car is to install good tires. They are the only things connecting your ride to the pavement and good tires make everything better. It doesn't matter how much power your car has, how crazy your brakes are or how dialed-in your suspension is - without the right tires you aren't going to get the full potential from your car.

There's more to picking the right tires than just looking up the most expensive each brand has to offer. Tire compound, tread life (UTQG), speed rating and price are all important factors. Knowing what environment your car will be spending the most time in will also help determine the proper tire. If you never go to the track there is no need for R-compounds and conversely if you are hitting the track every few months you're going to want a tire designed to take the heat and forces demanded by track days.

High-Performance Street Tires
The following tires are an excellent choice for street machines that occasionally undergo some "spirited driving". They offer a great balance of wet and dry traction as well as long life. They are not designed to deal with the extensive heat caused by prolonged track forces.

Intermediate Street And Track Tires
The tires in this section are designed for the enthusiast who likes to drive his car to the racetrack, beat on it all day and drive back home. There is often some wet traction sacrificed by the tread design in order to offer more dry grip. These tires are perfect for weekend track days for beginning to intermediate drivers.

Dedicated Track-Only Tires
The tires in this section are hard-core maximum performance tires. They are not designed to be driven on the street or in the rain and require being heated up on the track in order to offer ultimate grip. Driving any of the tires in the following section for prolonged periods on a public roadway isn't advised, although many do carry DOT certification.
