Callaway Offering Supercharged SportTruck Silverados, Suburbans, Tahoes, and Avalanches

Anyone who says the age of sport trucks like the Chevrolet Silverado SS is over hasn't heard of Callaway Cars' new SportTruck lineup. SportTruck's first offering are special versions of the Chevrolet Silverado, Avalanche, Suburban, and Tahoe with the 5.3-, 6.0-, and 6.0-liter V-8 engines.   |   2011 Callaway Silverado Profile How special? The SC450 -- with the 5.3-liter V-8 -- is said to make 450 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 450 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Go for any Chevy truck or SUV with the 6.0-liter V-8 and you can expect 490 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 496 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. The range-topping SC540, Callaway claims, will make 540 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 522 pound-feet of torque at 3800 rpm. Changes under the hood start with a roots-style Eaton TVS supercharger and a high flow intake system. There's also a low restriction exhaust system and increased flow fuel injectors. Any SportTruck package includes Callaway embroidered headrests and floor mats plus a three year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty.
