The General Grabber Experience

Recently, General Tire invited Diesel Power to Tooele, Utah, to show off its new creation, the General Grabber. The race-only version of the Grabber tire has proved itself in SCORE, CORR, and Dakar racing. The hard-learned lessons from this brutal type of competition trickled down to the DOT-approved versions we got a chance to experience at Miller Motorsports Park.   |   1102dp The General Grabber Experience airbourne Truck Specifications:

  |   The General Grabber uses a unique strake and chamfer design that provides great traction, while preventing the lugs from ripping off. The sweeping strakes (or grooves) run across the tire diagonally to open the lug face to the terrain. The chamfered lugs create traction pockets that the following unchamfered lugs grip. Baldwin. The experience was amazing! In a few seconds, we were at 100 mph and hitting 3-foot berms sideways. When we got to the first jump, there was no need to brace (although we were), since the landing was similar to being on a snowmobile in fresh powder. The only thing that could have made this better was if the truck had a diesel engine-and we heard the designers of this rig thought that would be a good idea, too.
