Auto Insurance Claims: Which medical bills to use?, medical insurance company, auto insurance company

Question
Could you please clarify for me what amounts the adjusters are allowed to us.  My insurance from work covered most of my bills and they were allowed adjustments because of contracts.  The adjuster is saying if an adjustment was allowed they have to use the discounted amount and not the actual charge.  Is this correct or is the amount of the total medical bills figured without the adjustments?  I need this answer as soon as possible please and I don't mean to rush you but they are trying to get me to settle with them.
Thanks so much,
Jeweline

Answer
Hi Jeweline,

That is correct. The auto insurance company will only use the actual amount paid, not the amount billed. So they will use the discounted amount of the medical bils. Remember, that you will have to reimburse your medical insurance company from the settlement that you receive.

I hope this helps
