Auto Insurance Claims: Coverage for teen driver, toyota corolla 2002, chrysler minivan

Question
We have a daughter who will soon turn 16. We're trying to figure out what would be the least expensive way to add her to our policy. Of our three vehicles, which of the following would be best to have her listed as the primany driver:  2007 Toyota Corolla, 2002 Chrysler minivan, or 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup (2WD, club cab, 6 cyl). Would coverage still extend to the other 2 vehicles if she would happen to be driving them?

Answer
Hi Donald,

Unfortunately there is no inexpensive way to do this. Most insurance companies will require that your daughter be listed in the highest rated vehicle. They put the highest risk driver on the highest rated vehicle to develope the highest possible premium. Once that is done, she is automatically covered on any of your other vehicles as well.

You should ask your agent. It is possible that your specific company may do it differently.

I hope this helps
