Auto Insurance Claims: Accident with uninsured driver, driving on a suspended license, uninsured driver

Question
Hello,
My sister was in an accident that was determined by the police to be her fault. (She made a left turn in an intersection that was marked for no left turns, and a car hit her on the passenger side.)
Unfortunately, my sister at the time did NOT have insurance, so the other guys insurance (Geico) paid for the damages on his car and is now asking my sister for reimbursement.
When we asked for the police report, we discovered that the guy had a suspended license due to DUI charges. (We were suspicious due to some of the questions the police were asking and the fact that he was handcuffed and placed in the back of the police care for 15-20 minutes.)

The question is .. does Geico have the right to require my sister to pay for damages to this guys car even though he was NOT a licenced driver? (He should NOT have been on the road.)

Answer
Hi Sean,
There are laws on the books that will deal with the other party for driving on a suspended license.
This does not relieve your sister of the financial responsibility of paying for his damaged property.
If she is not in a position to pay the amount in full, most companies are willing to work out a settlement agreement with affordable monthly payments.
I hope that you find this information to be of help.
Your feedback by rating my response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
