Auto Insurance Claims: Auto repair, insurance company, mechanic

Question
After I had a accident the mechanic said my car should have been totaled. The insurance company says no it should be repaired, can I refuse the car after it's fixed ?

Answer
Hi Billie,

Unfortunately, no. The decision to repair or total the vehicle is totally up to the insurance company. If they can repair the vehicle for less money than it will cost to total it, then it will be repaired.

I hope this helps
