Auto Insurance Claims: Fender bender, No deductible?

Question
I bumped into a car while reversing out of a parking spot. There is no damage to my car and about $650 to the other vehicle.
I was going to pay instead of filing a claim with my insurance but the body shop tells me that as I am not doing any work on my own vehicle I will not be charged a deductible.
Could you please advise if this is correct. I live in Houston Texas.

Thank you.

Answer
The body shop is right.  Since you admit fault, the claim is a liability claim, and there is normally no deductible on a liability claim, especially if you are not a commercial entity.  When you admit to being at fault and the damages are minor, the insurance just pays the claim for you!

I hope this helps!
