Auto Insurance Claims: 5 car collision, car collision, san francisco bay area

Question
What a great service you offer. I was in a 5 car accident with me being the last person to get hit while in Florida. Nothing serious but it creased the back bumper of my brand new truck. I was told by the insurance company of the person behind me that they were not liable and I should contact the persons insurance company who started the chain of events. I don't believe this to be true. Is it?

Thank You

Answer
Hi Royce,
You are being misinformed.  Every state has a law that requires a person to operate a vehicle in such a manner as to be able to bring it under control, do matter what unforeseeable incident happens on the roadway ahead.

The person that hit your back bumper (and their insurance company) are financially liable for your damages , just like you are financially liable if you hit the vehicle in front of you.

I hope you find this information to be helpful.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
