I got your address from the internet and hope you don't mind if I ask for your advise.
My compressor apparently popped a high pressure valve open the other day that sounded like a buzzer. I think this because there was a lot of clear oil on the bottom of the compressor also. However the AC still blows cold and after cleaning the oil off and driving for a few days I have found no further leaks.
I have used gauges and found that the low side is around 27 and the high around 215 until I turn on the rear AC and the high side goes to over 425 very fast. I am turning the rear off at that point in fear of another blow out of oil.
When I turn the rear off the high side goes back to normal.
What do you think ? Could the rear expansion valve cause this high pressure when the front is acting normal ??
The Kia dealer wanted to just replace the compressor and dryer as though it was the problem. (not under warranty)
It's not leaking and no noise and it is working.

Need to know if you have ever had the system worked on and what is your pressures on the low side with both ac units running. I do not think it is your compressor. You may have an obstruction in the system but not sure where without both sets of pressures. Try getting pressures again and let me know. If you have access to a recycling machine you may want to recover your freon, vacuum and recharge according to specs. Especially if you have had the system worked on before. It could just be an overcharge.
