Answer
Michael,
There are alot of things that could cause your A/C clutch to not engage. The first being a low refrigerant charge. Being that you say you have already done this... I will give you a few more steps. If these don't work, do a follow up and I will let you know what I would check next. I could sit here and give you the run-down on the entire schematics, but that would take me all night to type it out. But here are the first checks that usually give results.

1. Your fuses. You should have a 20 amp fuse for the A/C in underhood relay fuse box, as well as one in the cab fuse box. These both need to be good.

2. Your low pressure switch. According to my literature it is on the low side line close to the firewall. With the key in the run position (engine off), and your A/C switch on... Unplug the harness plug from the switch itself. With a small insulated wire jump the terminals inside the harness plug. Did you hear your compressor clutch engage? If so... and your refrigerant charge is correct as you state... replace your low pressure switch. The contacts inside the switch itself are stuck open. They should close when you have more than, typically, 17-22 psig inside the low side line. If you did not hear it engage, with a multimeter, do a voltage check on the harness plug. You should read 12 Volts on one of the wires. According to my schematic, it should be the red one... but my books have been known to be mistaken at times. Do you read 12 Volts? Either way let me know if jumping it engages the clutch and if not send the result of your voltage check.

I hope this does you some good. If not, please let me know what you found, and I will go into the wiring further.
Thank you for the question and good luck in everything. If you found this helpful, please do not forget to rate this answer.
