Auto body repair & detailing: PT Cruiser bumper, damage appraisal, proper assessment

Question
Came in contact with the rear of another vehicle (tow bar holder) that left two 3 inch gashes into the front end of a '06 PT Cruiser. This thing is all molded plastic of some sort. Is there a way a shop could fill in these without having to replace the whole bumper. One of the gashed split through and the other is really close to that, but no other dents or damage. I was just curious if the technology to heat or reform from the inside was available and less expensive than replacement. Thanks for your time.

Answer
I can't see the damage to give you A proper assessment. There may be hidden damage, or broken off mounting tabs. Yes, bumpers can be repaired, it's dependant upon how severe the damage is. it's a simple matter of time is money Vs. part replacement cost. Go to a body shop for a proper damage appraisal. Bill
