Auto Parts: Chevroley Blazer engine, chevy blazer, chevroley

Question
Hi, i have a 1994 Chevy Blazer and i believe the engine is blown but i would like to be certain before i go and pay for a new engine. but anyways, the car will crank but it wont turn over. The way it started was when i wen to put my reservoir cap back on. then about a week later the cap blew off while there was water in the reservoir. Then every time i drove it after that it would overheat and stall on me. So whats the problem????? Thanks

Answer
Hi Matt,

Bad head gasket, cracked head(s) or cracked block. If you're thinking of replacing the engine anyway, pull the cylinder heads and see if the gaskets are bad. That may be your only issue, unless you ran the engine very hot for an extended time in which case I'd just toss that paperweight.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
