Auto Parts: 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4, cooling system pressure tester, vacuum actuators

Question
I have been having problems with coolant and oil consumption. i have stopped driving the truck in fear of making it worse. It had a radiator leak and i fixed that. It had a broken thermostat i fixed that. so were do i go from here could it be a head gasket or a cracked head  if so how can i tell which one is the problem. Also I think i have a vacuum actuator problem can i use a used one from a 1991 or 1990 S-10 4x4 i have those for part trucks. Will that be hard to change?

Answer
Hi Brandon,

Coolant and oil consumption. Give me some history. How did you arrive at this problem. Was the engine overheating?

Do you have or have access to any of the following tools:
-compression tester
-cooling system pressure tester

The vacuum actuators (for the 4WD) should interchange as long as they mount the same. There was no interchange notes released for that part.

Get back to me with a follow-up.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
