Auto Parts: Chevy Malibu radio question, radio cassette cd, chevy malibu

I have a 2003 Malibu LS with a standard am/fm/cd receiver.  I want to buy a GM radio/cassette/cd combo off ebay, but I don't know the exact part number for this radio.  Apparently, it has to be the exact part number because not all radio combos will work, even though they all look the same.  Can anyone help??

Hi Mike,

It is generally not recommended to replace a factory A/V unit with anything other than a numbers-matching replacement. The 'Service Number' of your unit will be printed on the back of it.

That said, it is possible to interchange units from different years, makes and models however, in order for me to tell you which units WILL fit into and function in your vehicle, I'd need to know what the service number of YOUR unit is. That is the only way to accurately check and guarantee interchangeability.
